Frequently Asked Questions

Heated Clothing Safety

Yes, when used according to the manufacturer's guidelines, heated clothing is safe to wear for extended periods. However, it's essential to monitor the heat settings and ensure you're comfortable. If you ever feel the clothing is too hot, turn down the heat or switch it off.

Our heated clothing items are designed to be water-resistant, making them safe to wear in light rain or snowy conditions. However, they should not be submerged in water. Before wearing in wet conditions, always check the product's specifications and ensure that the battery compartment and connectors are dry.

Most ActionHeat is designed to be washable, but it's crucial to remove all batteries and power sources before washing. Always follow our washing instructions, typically found on the label or in the product manual. Hand washing is often recommended to protect the heating elements and wiring.

Look for certifications like UL (Underwriters Laboratories) or similar safety standards, which indicate that the product has undergone rigorous testing for safety. These certifications ensure that the heated clothing meets specific safety criteria and is safe for consumer use. All ActionHeat batteries are UL Safety Certified.

No. It's generally not recommended to wear heated clothing while sleeping. The body's ability to regulate temperature and sense overheating decreases during sleep, which could lead to discomfort or potential burns. If you need added warmth while sleeping, consider using heated blankets specifically designed for overnight use.

Yes, heated clothing can be layered under other garments. However, ensure that the heat can effectively penetrate the layers and reach your skin. Too many layers might reduce the effectiveness of the heating elements and could potentially cause the clothing to overheat. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines regarding layering.

Traveling With Heated Gear

Yes, you can bring your heated clothing on an airplane. However, the batteries, especially if they are lithium-ion, have specific regulations. It's essential to check with your airline for their specific guidelines.

Batteries should be packed in your carry-on luggage. It's recommended to store them in their original packaging or in a protective case to prevent short circuits. Ensure the terminals are covered and that the batteries are not damaged.

If a battery shows signs of damage, swelling, or leakage, do not bring it on the plane. Damaged batteries can pose a significant fire risk. Dispose of the battery safely and according to local regulations.
