This Privacy Policy explains how the ActionHeat mobile app ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. The app is published by JustBrand Limited, 3791 Main St, Philadelphia, PA 19127, USA.

The app is a Bluetooth remote control for ActionHeat heated apparel (jackets, vests, gloves, socks, insoles, and accessories). It also has a Shop button that opens our online store in your phone's web browser.

The short version

  • The app has no account and no login.
  • Everything the app needs to control your heated gear stays on your phone. We do not send your device list, heat settings, or usage to any server.
  • The app does not collect or transmit any personal information.
  • Tapping Shop opens our online store in your phone's own web browser. The app is not involved in what happens there — it's the same as typing actionheat.com into your browser yourself.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information the app stores on your device

To control your gear, the app saves the following locally on your phone. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else:

  • The Bluetooth devices you have paired (their Bluetooth hardware address and advertised name).
  • Any nicknames you give a device.
  • Your per-device settings: on/off state, heat level, indicator-light mode, pairing/lock status, and Battery Saver preference.
  • Battery-level readings reported by your gear over Bluetooth.

This information stays in the app's local storage. It is removed if you delete the app or clear its data. We have no copy of it.

2. Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth only to find, connect to, and control your ActionHeat heated apparel. On Android, the app requests the "Nearby devices" (Bluetooth) permission. The app does not use Bluetooth to determine your physical location, and does not collect location data.

3. The Shop button

The app has a Shop button that opens our online store (actionheat.com) in your phone's own web browser — Safari, Chrome, or whichever browser you use. The store is not displayed inside the app.

This matters for your privacy: once the browser opens, you have left the app. Anything that happens on the store — browsing, adding to cart, checking out, entering shipping or payment details, and the cookies and advertising or analytics technologies our website uses — takes place in your browser under your browser's own privacy settings and controls. The app has no access to it and receives nothing back.

Your use of the store is governed by our website privacy policy at actionheat.com/pages/privacy-policy and by Shopify's Privacy Policy.

4. Diagnostics and crash information

The current version of the app does not send crash reports, analytics, or usage data off your device.

In a future update we may add basic crash and diagnostic reporting to help us find and fix problems (for example: the app version, your device model and operating-system version, and the technical details of a crash). If we add this, it will be limited to app-stability information, will not be used to identify you personally, and we will update this policy — and our app-store privacy disclosures — before that version is released.

5. How information is used

On-device data (Section 1) is used solely to operate the app and remember your gear and settings between sessions. It is never used for advertising and never leaves your phone.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. The app shares nothing, because it collects nothing. Purchases you make on our website in your browser are covered by our website privacy policy. If we later add crash/diagnostic reporting to the app, that limited technical data would be processed by the reporting provider we use at that time, and this policy will be updated to name it first.

7. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your choices and rights

  • You can remove all on-device data at any time by deleting the app or clearing its storage in your phone's settings.
  • For any personal information held by our online store (orders, account, shipping), or to make a privacy request, contact us using the details below.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal information the store holds about you.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information. On-device data is stored in the app's private storage area. Store and checkout data is protected in transit using encryption (HTTPS) by Shopify and the payment provider. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and — for any change that adds data collection — we will update it before the affected app version is released.
